Peace out 2008

Posted on December 29th, 2008 filed in Music

I’ve managed to prune down the list of albums that I dug the most this year down to 10. So here they are in no particular order.

Anthony Green - Avalon
I like to listen to this in the morning at work. It’s like an angel is singing me back to sleep while I’m fighting to stay awake… then it brushes my hair and tells me everything is going to be ok.

The Hold Steady - Stay Postive
Every song is instantly quotable and sing-a-longable.

Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst
This will do until the next Bright Eyes comes out.

Ryan Adams - Cardinology
“You’re like a rain cloud if it rained mushroom clouds”

NFG/ISHC - Tip Of The Iceberg/Takin’ It Ova!
NFG cover lifetime and ISHC speak the truth. “Roads, where we’re going we don’t need no roads”

Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vols. III & IV
The best thing since The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
This album could easily have been the soundtrack to Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. I just want to grab a bow and arrow and set off for the woods when I listen to this album.

City and Colour - Bring Me Your Love
This was the predecessor to the Anthony Green album as my morning jam. Way better than the first album and gets better the more you listen to it.

Cancer Bats - Hail Destroyer
If the devil was from Texas or maybe South Carolina, this would be his soundtrack.

A Static Lullaby - Rattlesnake!
I’m the only one I know that digs this jam. Whatevs, it has more breakdowns than yo mama’s Civic. (ya I just said that)
