The Great Ithaca Chili Cookoff

While making a routine pass through the great town of Ithaca, NY, I heard the spice girls in the distance while walking down the street. This turned out to be the Chili Idol Karaoke portion of The Great Ithaca Chili Cookoff!

My only previous knowledge of a chili cookoff ever happening took place on my of my fave South Park episodes “Scott Tenorman must die”. The people of Ithaca obviously love their chili as you can see from the massive lines.

There was also an Iron Chef contest happening where they had to make chili consisting of the secret ingredient…. wait for it…. pepper. WTF kind of secret ingredient is that for chili, maybe next year the secret ingredient will be ground beef. I personally would have liked to see them work some pineapple into the equation.
